NikuJyaga

Uh!!I hate when i have done writing the post, and it come deleted by accidently!!
Well..here I started to have typing a post about NikuJyaga. Niku means meats in japanese. We didn't have this menu for about couple months. So I decided to make it for dinner. It served with miso siru and steamed rice.
Since most of japanese dishes come with sake, mirin and pork. Of course I have to make it in halal way as Iam a Muslim. And the taste has no much different anyway, you can change mirin to white or brown sugar. And it's quite hard to find big daikon (radish) here in KSA, I always got the small one.

Potty Training, Graduate BreastMilk and Independent Child!Yes he's DONE!!

My first son, he just turned 4 years old on October 2010. It was amazing to have him potty trained when he was 2 years old. It started when we just had vacation on 2008. That time, we had vacay to US, and Japan. But on the way to japan, i have my transit to Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia. My husband went to Japan first by Saudi Airlines, because he had his ticket from the university. We were trying to get the same flight, but we weren't lucky, it was sooo much expensive than hubby's ticket. So I told him to get another flight who can take me and my first son to Japan ( my daughter wasn't born ). So I decided to have Malaysia Airlines, hubby actually got India Air..but I dissagree since we must transit more than 10 hours in India which I don't even have any friends or relatives there. So i said Malaysia Air is perfect, I have some friends who live there, and so I can tell them to pick me up at the airport, have some tea or even meet for the transit time. Even though I had a hotel, it's included the flight ticket..I decided to contact one of my friend that I have never even meet her actually that time LOL. But I believed she is a good muslima sister. I mailed her about my transit to KL-Malaysia, and she was excited to meet me too. Her name is Umm Fathima, she is very beautiful and smart sister mashAllah.
Well..since Malaysia and Indonesia takes only 1 and 1/2  hours by airplane, so I told my husband , My son and I will might go to visit my family when I have transit to Malaysia, and he aggreed. We only spent 4 days in Jakarta- Indonesia. Of course my mom was mad, 4 days?!only???!!hehe sorry Mom, I couldn't leave my husband alone in the desert country by himself ^-^.
During my visit to Indonesia, My Mom told me to try to potty train my son. I said, NO!!I'm not ready!!But she kept forcing me, and she did it to my son.She told me to let him without diaper, let him pee all over the room, then he will recognize how's bad and don't feel good to pee in the pants. Right after i came back from the vacation, I tried to do potty for him again, and I also tell him to quit the breastmilk. He was grumpy, always ask for breastmilk , couldn't sleep etc. Alhamdulillah it was in Ramadhan, so he mostly sleeps in the day time and awake during night time. We were fine, my husband used to take him driving around to make him sleep. Alhamdulillah he took less than 1 month to quit wearing diapers and graduates breastmilk!both were in the same time!! We bought him formula milk, but he refused to drink it and threw it away!so I changed it with juice..he loves better than formula milk. He never likes vanila milk till now, just about 2 months ago, he started to drink chocolates milk PR*DI****E. He won't drink milk except chocolates! just like his MOM!lol..and he loves juice sooo much!!
So, my son..he is done with diaper and graduated from breastmilk, 1 week before he turns 2 years old!!*HAPPY!!!* And since 3 days ago, I thought him how to clean his butt after he finish from his poopy. Now, he is able to do it by himself..alhamdulillah. He is such a good listener and practicer!^-^
When I take them to masjid An Nabawi for salat, he also helps me watching his sister.Aww Boy!!I'm proud of YOU!!!Mommy Loves You!!

Nasi Kuning Seafood

Cinnamon Rolls

Talking about Cinamon Rolls , I was very unconfidence actually when i started to make it.
First, I have no idea how's it gonna be..since I don't practice my pastry skills for about more than 6 years!
I learned pastry from the high school, and we had pastry class 2 times a week..which is one class it takes like 5 hours / day. Oh ya..not all students of pastry or cookery can pass all the tests though, some of them even do not practicing at home or lazy to be in the kitchen or not their hobbies. So, some of my friends have found the real job they wanted such as secretary, manager, teacher or even model lol.
Okay, here is the recipe

Ingredients;
  • 180 ml milk
  • 55 g margarine, softened
  • 405 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 50 g white sugar
  • 3 g salt
  • 60 ml water
  • 1 egg
  • 220 g brown sugar, packed
  • 7 g ground cinnamon
  • 115 g margarine, softened
  • sliced almond (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan until it bubbles, then remove from heat. Mix in margarine; stir until melted. Let cool until lukewarm.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 1/4 cup flour, yeast, sugar and salt; mix well. Add water, egg and the milk mixture; beat well. Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. When the dough has just pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, softened margarine.
  4. Roll out dough into a 12x9 inch rectangle. Spread dough with margarine/sugar mixture. Sprinkle with sliced almond if desired. Roll up dough and pinch seam to seal. Cut into 12 equal size rolls and place cut side up in 12 lightly greased muffin cups. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until browned. Remove from muffin cups to cool. Serve warm

Instant Noodles for Breakfast

The weather today is cool Alhamdulillah (Praise be To God).Right after finished Fajr prayer  I went to the kitchen and make ochazuke and coffee for my husband's breakfast. This morning, I sneezed more than 5 times in about 1 minute! yes, since i got allergy to the bad air, I always get to sneezing every morning. And as soon as my husband left to the Campus, my daughter woke up and asked for milk.
Yet i have my laundry loading in the washing machine, she cried wants another else I guess. So I decided to make my breakfast and her baby's food then, she can enjoy it too. I choose instant noodle with vegetable flavor, and I added a boiled egg, scallions and cellery chopped, fresh mushroom and fried shallot plus chilly paste for me!umm,.. Yummy dehh!! *dah lama gak makan indomie*
While i was enjoying my noodles after feeding my daughter, my son woke up and smiles said "where's papa?what are you eating?noodles?!i want some too!the same one like this (pointing my noodles in the bowl) but no soup (without soup, meant he likes fried noodles more)". I told myson, right after i finish myfood, I'll make his breakfast. He says "OK!" and went to the kitchen, looking something in the fridge.

He came to me with 3 cups of jelly, with happy face, he says "Ma, papa got these for me?" I said "yes, but you have to share with your sister". So He gave his sister one cup of jelly. He enjoyed the breakfast in front of the TV with his favorite ROBOT cartoon.
